Best Korean BBQ Beef Short Ribs
I found these beef short ribs at my local butcher. They're cut 1/2" thick which makes them perfect for quick grilling. I have also used 1/3" thick in the past but I find 1/2" thick has a little more meat and flavour.
Ingredients
- 4 LBS Beef Short Ribs ½ inch thickness
- ¼ Brown Sugar
Marinade
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Cup Soy Sauce
- ½ Cup Green onions
- 4 tbsps Fresh Ginger roughly chopped
- 8 Garlic Cloves roughly chopped
- 1 Tbsp Black Pepper
- 4 Tbsps Sesame Oil
- 3 Tbsps Rice Vinegar
Instructions
- Lay the short ribs out in a single layer and sprinkle the brown sugar and all over them, let the brown sugar set in for about 10 minutes, and repeat on the other side. This created a nice texture on the outside of the ribs and it soaks in the sweet flavour.
- Whisk all the above marinade ingredients together in a small bowl. Place the short ribs in a ziplock bag or a container and pour the marinade over the top. The short ribs will need to marinate for at least 4-8 hours in the refrigerator, but overnight is the best.
- These short ribs need to cook on a grill over med. high heat. Cook 4-5 minutes each side. After 8-10 minutes, these korean short ribs are ready, let them rest for a few minutes and serve.
Notes
*I like to serve mine with Sticky rice.
**I used charcoal bbq to cook this recipe.
*** Do not over cook those ribs they cook quick.
