Beef & Broccoli Stir Fry
Perfect healthy tasty meal for your work week day. This recipe is quick and easy you can serve it with rice or eat it the way it is. You can also substitute the steak for any other meat such as shrimp or chicken. It tasted exactly like Chinese takeout food but much healthier. Let’s be honest who doesn’t like a good stir fry.
Ingredients
- 1 Lb Thinly sliced steak strips choose what ever cut of steak you like such as flank, sirloin.
- 3 to 4 Cup broccoli
- 2 Tbsp cooking oil I used peanut oil
- 6 Tbsp green onion chopped
- sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Marinade
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 Tbsp ginger paste or fresh
- 1 Tbsp garlic Paste or minced
- 2 Tbsp corn starch
Sauce
- 1/2 Cup beef broth or red cooking wine
- 3 Tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp ginger paste or fresh
- 1 Tbsp garlic paste or minced
- 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp corn starch
Instructions
- mix all marinade ingredients together and add thinly sliced steaks and marinate at room temp for 15-20 minutes
- meanwhile mix all sauce ingredients and set aside, cut up your broccoli and set aside
- in a wok or hot pan add your oil, and place the steak in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes mixing often to avoid burning the meat. Create a nice sear prior to your first mix
- in the same pan remove the steak and add your broccoli and 1/2 cup of water to help steam it, and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- add your steak and onions and mix, then create a well one the middle and add your mixed sauce, once the sauce starts to bubble mix and cook until sauce thickens
- remove from heat garnish with more onions and sesame seeds, this dish was so tasty you can eat it as is or serve with a side of rice
