GRILLED DR PEPPER CHICKEN WINGS
You know me by now that I LOVE LOVE chicken wings. I am a fan of dry rub chicken wings, but this is a MUST try. I started off with brining the chicken wings in Dr. Pepper over night to soak in all the flavours. Then I grilled them on the bbq, for this recipe you can use an air fryer, oven, smoker, or a BBQ.
Ingredients
- 2 LBS Chicken wings SPLIT
- 1 L Dr Pepper save 4 tbsps for the sauce
- 5 tbsp BBQ rub youse your favourite bbq sauce I am using Adam's rib rub
- 1 Green Onion Chopped
Dr Pepper BBQ Sauce
- 1 C BBQ Sauce use your favourite bbq sauce
- 2 tbp Honey
- 2 Gloves of Garlic Minced
- 4 tbsp Dr. Pepper
Instructions
- Brine your chicken wings in Dr Pepper for at least 4 hours to overnight
- Remove from brine, pat dry and add your favourite bbq rub and mix well
- Fire up your grill at 375-400 degrees and grill each side 15-20 minutes until cooked through
Dr Pepper BBQ Sauce
- In a sauce pan over medium high heat mix all bbq sauce ingredients and simmer until reduced in half. Wait 30 seconds-1 minute between adding each ingredient for flavours to blend in together
- Toss chicken wings with bbq sauce and sprinkle chopped green onions & ENJOY!
